Amazing Display - Game Changer

by Andy star_border star star star star

Upgraded from a 27" ASUS IPS 1440p display and could not believe the difference in black levels and colors. I wasnt expecting it being this good especially with my previous monitor being a decent spec. The blacks are black and the colors are vibrant, easier to setup for SDR content but not sure I have set the HDR up properly but this is likely a windows issue. Easy to setup using a vesa monitor mount with the easy to clip in bracket. Not used the stand but looks decent quality. So far it seems this is an excellent purchase.

Almost End Game!

Overall this is a great monitor, there is one issue though. HDR, looks great with the highlights but it suffers from blue tint. This is with the latest update as of todays date. The LG equivalent tracks much better but is not as bright. So currently it’s a toss up between the 2 products for HDR. Brighter = ASUS, more accurate = LG. The ASUS is perfect for SDR in Racing Mode with the sRGB colour space selected. Do not use the sRGB mode though, that increases latency. One firmware update to this monitor could make it a perfect product, it needs to allow HDR calibration. Fingers crossed ASUS are looking to allow this with a firmware update/fix soon.

Looks great when it works but poor quality and no support from ASUS

by Alan Birtles star_border star_border star_border star_border star

Looks great in HDR mode but my unit was faulty and consistently showed really bad image retention. Support from ASUS was poor and after 2 weeks were only offering a swap with a refurbished unit and only after they received the faulty one, leaving me without a monitor. Firmware is a bit odd too with various settings only being available in specific modes. Pixel cleaning can only be done when the monitor is connected to a switched on PC.
