With the Barrow DDC cooler you protect your water pump from overheating and thus also your other components. If your pump fails, the water cycle is interrupted and critical areas are no longer properly cooled.
The cooler is simply mounted on the back of the DDC pump and then does its work automatically. The large fins made of aluminum and the air flow in the case cool the motor of the pump down and put less stress on it. This ensures that the engine runs longer.
