Don't loose you cool

I won't cover cooling as plenty of reviews out there.

Fitting however.
1. Throw the spanner away!
2. Fit the bottom block on, and locking threads. I found loosening the retention screw on the motherboard to help.
3. Screw the clamps to the heatsink.
Place the cooler on top of the 4 screws, wiggle till it fits.
4.turn the entire thing upside down, so motherboard upside-down, now screw the screws in. Best go other was 1st till you feel it drop into place.. Tighten all 4, bit by bit keeping it even.
5. Unassembled, when you realise that you forgot thermal paste.
6. Repeat 4. Then pat yourself on back for not throwing the cooler at the wall.

Very good cooler, mounting is troublesom

Performance is very good indeed, perhaps not quite there with the Noctua NH-D15 but not far off and it certainly looks a whole lot better. The Noctua is so ugly I couldn't bring myself to put it in my case. Fans spins at a low rpm and very quiet overall. Probably the first air cooler to actually look good in your case.

Ram clearance is better than I expected there is 35mm from the top to the bottom of the heat spreader, or approx 44mm top of spreader to the bottom of pcb. The Dominator ram I had to unscrew the fin assembly from the top of the sink to make it fit as it it covers all 4 ram slots on my Asus Z97-A

The only trouble I had is the mounting it comes in approximately 3 sections a screw that goes through the backplate fastened by a collar which then attaches to another screw/nut combination and yet another nut on top of that for a LGA 1150 mobo which then fastens to a spring clip which in turn screws into the heatsink itself. You have to take the motherboard out and put it on a desk theres simply no room to attach it in situ with the tiny spanner provided and I spent much time trying to figure out the correct procedure upside down, right way up, figured it out eventually. The instructions are too confusing and could be better. A simpler mounting system and clearer instructions would make this a must have.

Great cooler

This is a beast of a cooler. It looks fantastic and is extremely good. My 4670k is idling at 30C right now, I can't wait to overclock and see the true potential of this cooler. The installation was a bit annoying but wasn't so bad. Make sure your ram is low enough because this is one BIG cooler and it over hangs two of my left ram slots.

Very good cpu cooler worth the money

i bought this cpu cooler as an upgrade from my intel stock cpu cooler it keeps my overclocked cpu nice and cool even when i play cpu heavy games worth the buy would recommended 10/10

BE Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU cooler

This is an excellent product. I replaced my old water cooled heatsink with it and it keeps temperatures 8 degrees cooler. It is very quiet indeed, a real bonus over the Cool-it unit I was using before. Fitting is straightforward and it comes with all the parts required as well as heat transfer compound. This really is a winner and worth every penny.

Just Epic!

I bought this after the reviews on the Dark Rock Pro 2 Cooler. I have a Corsair 600t case and it fits snug in there. Easy to install however the instructions provided are more picture instruction rather than description as its in every language on the planted haha!

I have it on mounted to my Asus Crosshair V Formula Z board and is very sturdy and looks pretty cool. My CPU is the FX4300 Piledriver and is now sat @ 4.8mhz @ 1.464V and the temps are at 43 celcius after Prime 95 ran for 1 and 1/2 hours.

Once again very quick post and another packet of Haribo =]

Cheers Overclockers
