The antistatic cuff is used by experienced electronics and PC technicians to protect against static electricity when working on the PC or other sensitive electrical devices.

The cuff is strapped around the wrist, the crocodile clamp at the other end of the spiral cord clamped to a grounded metal surface (eg radiators, etc.) and the PC is already protected against unwanted voltage transitions.
