Cracking little buy

I am so happy with the performance of the first one I bought to replace my System drive I bought another for my wifes pc when hers failed resently..... really is a cracking bit of kit with very quick response in booting up and playing games as well...... cant fault the build performance or price... well done Kingston and also OC for great service and our local DPD driver who always gets our stuff here when he says he will...

Best quality and size for this price!

Can't get any better for this price. 450MB/s Write and Read speeds 120GB. Just for 45quid!
Of course, my Samsung 120GB SSD has better read speed (530MB/s) however needed 1 more SSD to store my favourite games (10 games, other 40 on HDD).

Thanks OC'ers.

plugged into an old Dell Intel core 2 Duo, to replace the old 5400rpm drive..

This thing comes up at 7.8 on the WEI for sata 2,

touches the full sata 2 capabilites that the laptop has to offer, making everything in windows pretty snappy. windows shuts down in around 3 - 5 seconds, whilst installing windows 7 updates 140 odd, i was also installing printer drivers etc, didnt notice no slow down what so ever.

has breathed new life into an old laptop thats for sure. now i wouldnt even think it was a dual core, runs just as fast as a new system in everyday usal tasks, email, program startups etc.

Good bit of kit.

I decided to buy this SSD while building my new gaming rig and have it for the OS and store my stuff on an HDD its perfect windows is really fast now it has its own drive i do have 1 or two games on the SSD but they are only ones that need the extra speed such as Arma and Battlefield 4 which are big games the rest i store on the HDD.

I would say to anyone get this but use it for a dedicated windows SSD!

No time to make a hot Cuppa!

Once again, flawless delivery from Overclockers. Delivered before I even went to work early in the morning!

Well, it's an instantly noticeable improvement over my old build with a mechanical hard drive! 'Takes a mind blowing 13 Seconds to boot up the system completely, including the BIOS screen! It's consistent with its speed and loading all programs takes a second, if that! One of the best buys I've ever made, and that's no exaggeration either. The only downside (if any) is that I can't power up the PC and make a nice cup of tea while I wait for it to fully load! Hahah~

good upgrade to my old SSD

Upgraded from Corsair f40 and v happy with results, both have sandforce controllers so do compression, good performance and price for the Kingston.

Using ATTO (compressible data):

Queue depth (QD) 10, total length:

4k / read(MB) / write(MB)
f40 (85%full) / 196 / 174
v300 / 274 / 275
f40 / 225 / 201
v300 / 435 / 379
f40 / 236 / 281
v300 / 530 / 555

Crystal Disk (non compressible data)

5 runs 500MB dataset

f40 / read / write
seq / 149 / 45
random 512k / 145 / 38
random 4k 1QD / 20 / 35
random 4k 32QD / 84 / 34

v300 / read / write
seq / 452 / 171
random 512k / 409 / 170
random 4k 1QD / 23 / 102
random 4k 32QD / 104 / 169

for comparison some spinning rust (not defragged before hand 61% full):

samsung HD103UJ 1TB / read / write
seq / 105 / 98
random 512k / 33 / 47
random 4k 1QD / 0.3 / 1.0
random 4k 32QD / 0.7 / 1.1

just wish I could by some more for my Steam and Origin directories!

v for Very Fast

This is a great little drive, it's very fast reducing load times of everything, and with 120GB it can easily be your boot drive with all your apps added, and maybe 10GB-20GB put aside for work.
