MPN KOLINK REFINE BUNDLE 1
MANUFACTURER Kolink

Renowned for their innovative and high-performance cases, Kolink has now brought the new Refine Midi-Tower to market, representing a feature-rich gaming case that offers an abundance of space beneath its stylish exterior for all the powerful gaming hardware you could want. The tempered glass side door will allow users to enjoy an unobstructed view of their high-end gaming setup complete with compatibility for E-ATX motherboards. Given the use of tempered glass, aesthetics are important, and a PSU shroud cleverly conceals unsightly cables. The front of the case that consists of brushed aluminium underlines the chic appearance that is also accentuated by the addition of a digitally addressable RGB-LED strip. The lighting can be controlled via a switch on the I/O panel. Alternatively, the strip can also be connected directly to a motherboard and controlled by applicable software. A fine mesh with integrated dust filter on the top ensures proper ventilation. A pre-installed 120mm fan at the rear provides adequate ventilation.

The Features of the Kolink Refine Midi-Tower at a Glance:

  • Stylish Midi-Tower supporting up to E-ATX motherboards
  • Tempered glass side panel with hinges
  • Brushed aluminium front
  • Smart digitally addressable RGB lighting on the front
  • One pre-installed 120mm fan on the rear
  • Up to five 120mm- and four 140mm fans possible
  • Space for graphics cards up to 380mm, CPU coolers up to 160mm tall
  • I/O Panel with controller for RGB-LEDs, 1 x USB3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, 1x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0

Kolink Refine: Plenty of Space for Powerful Gaming Hardware

Even though the case's dimensions correspond to those of a Midi-Tower, the Refine utilises its ingenious design to enable support for E-ATX motherboards. Even graphics cards measuring up to 380 mm will enjoy plenty of space towards the front of the case. CPU coolers measuring up to 160mm in height will also fit with space to spare. The implementation of a smart shroud helps conceal the PSU and HDD cage, in which users are free to install two 3.5"- or two 2.5" drives. To the rear of the motherboard lies a bracket offering support for two more 2.5" SSDs.

Those who prefer to opt for air cooling will be pleased to know that there are plenty of mounting points for 120mm fans. The front allows for the installation of two 120mm- or two 140mm fans. The roof allows for either two 120mm- or two 140mm fans. The roof of the case is equipped with a mesh that helps ensure maximum airflow with a minimum of unwanted dust. This is also possible in no small part thanks to the smart use of dust filters, meaning that the case's interior will rarely need special cleaning. A single 120mm occupies a slot at the back of the case. The front of the case supports a 280mm radiator, and of course the rear fan can be replaced with a 120mm radiator if you prefer.

Tempered Glass and RGB-LEDs: Get Your Hardware Looking Great

Thanks to Kolink's clever choice of locations for the case's cable guides and brackets, users can look forward to a strikingly smart and clean-looking case. The spacious interior can be admired from the outside thanks to the case's use of a tempered glass side door, which of course uses hinges to make opening and closing the case a breeze. A strip of digitally addressable RGB-LEDs is attached to the side of the brushed aluminium front. A switch on the I/O panel is responsible for controlling them, along with their accompanying lighting effects. Alternatively, the strip can also be connected and controlled directly to the mainboard. Then the RGB switch on the I/O panel can also be used as a reset button. In addition to the RGB/Reset switch, there is also a USB3.2 Gen 2 Type-C slot, a USB 3.0 slot and two USB 2.0 ports, as well as 3.5 mm sockets for headphones and microphone, and finally a power and HDD-LED.

Please Note: The button to change the RGB lighting effects is located on the bottom of the front panel.

In addition to numerous low-priced yet highly regarded chassis and an extensive range of accessories, the Kolink brand already offers long power supplies of various performance classes. After the successful entry into the European market for PC power supplies at the end of 2015, Kolink is now working with the Core series and shows that particularly inexpensive power supplies are possible without the customer having to forego basic quality features. A Kolink-Core power supply delivers everything that is really important, while less important features are consistently saved. So the Cores are technically solid, but still hardly more expensive than the all-but-no-name products.

For the entry-level series, Kolink uses, for example, the 80 Plus certificate, which guarantees efficiency of more than 80 percent from 20 percent utilization at 115 volts. In the European 230-volt network, all models of the Core Series meet the requirements of EU Regulation No. 617/2013. Since July 2014, this has presumably required a minimum efficiency of 82 to 85 percent for all power supplies used in complete PCs. Because the mandatory requirements for standby power consumption and standby efficiency are also met, Kolink core power supplies are therefore a low-cost but right-safe choice for all integrators and system houses.

The fact that Kolink is familiar with its entry-level products is also evident in the equipment with connections. The 850-watt model offered here has a 4 + 4-pin EPS12V connector for the processor as well as a total of four 6 + 2-pin connectors for the graphics card in addition to the 20 + 4-pin ATX connector for the mainboard . Five SATA and three Molex connectors are available for the other components. The Kolink Core 850 Watt can therefore prove its performance at any time in real systems. Even gaming systems with SLI and Crossfire tapes from high-end graphics cards are supplied without problems by this low-cost power supply.

It is also worth noting that Kolink - unfortunately as part of the minority of the power supply brands - carries out both product design and final quality control completely in Europe before delivery to specialist retailers, system integrators and end customers. Despite the aggressive prices, these products are full-fledged retail products for the needs of European customers, whose quality is ensured by manufacturers at all times. A power supply must ultimately function reliably in the end, so that the computer runs smoothly.

Saving on the other hand is something that many users in this price class do not value: That Kolink delivers all power supplies without a power cable which protects the environment and saves costs, whereas most potential buyers already have cables already at home. Kolink also has a purist style in terms of optics, the cable strings are held together by convenient cable ties instead of elaborate sleeves. The surface is simply black lacquered, so the power supply in the PC hardly noticeable. In short, if you only have a tight budget, the core power supply is currently the best choice.
