Inspired by the curve and shape of supercars, offers colorful customization with MSI Mystic Light RGB, tuned for better performance by Core boost, DDR4 Boost, M.2 Shield, Wi-Fi AC Solution, AMD Turbo USB 3.2 Gen2.
The MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon ATX motherboard comes with one PCI-Express 3.0 slot with full x16 connectivity for graphics cards as well as one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot with x4. For additional expansion cards, the motherboard comes with three PCIe x1 slots. The four RAM slots support up to 64 GB DDR4-RAM clocked at up to 2.933 MHz and this can even be increased via overclocking to up to 3.466 MHz.
At the same time, two M.2 slots with PCIe connectivity are available thanks to this being an AM4-compatible motherboard. M.2 SSDs that use the advanced NVM-Express protocol (NVMe) and that are connected via four PCI-Express 3.0 lanes are up to eight times as fast as traditional SATA 6G hard drives and they support data transfer speeds of up to 32 Gbit/s. One of the slots come with an integrated heatspreader and accepted expansion cards up to 110 mm (22110), the other can be fitted with 2280 M.2 drives.
The MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon has one USB 3.1 Type C connection on the I/O panel as well as a USB 3.1 Type A connector. The USB Type C port allows devices to be inserted in either orientation and is also exceptionally slim. USB 3.1 Gen 2 is capable of achieving maximum speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s per port and USB ports with this standard support, as a rule, smartphones and tablets that have fast charging functions. For CPUs with integrated graphics like AMD's Raven Ridge, the board provides one HDMI- and one DisplayPort connection.
In terms of the special features on offer, the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon includes RGB-LED lighting on the chipset cooler and the right side of the motherboard. The LEDs can be, along with additional LEDs that are connected to the RGB header, controlled via MSI Mystic Light software. The board has two headers for static- and one for addressable RGB lighting elements. Moreover there is a special 3-pin header for RGB-LED strips, fans or hubs from Corsair.
