Simple to install, great performance
by James GloverMy rear case fan is stationary, my front fans turn slow whisper quiet, and the pump and radiator fans are a flicker. Currently my CPU sits at a cool 26C. Now granted my system is currently idle, but even under load I'm only seeing 38C, with things only slightly louder. Cost wise I probably jumped in at the deep end at my first move away from air, but its definitely proven to be the most impactful change on my recent system upgrade.Installation was a little tricky, due to the tight confines of my case, but none of this can be blamed on the cooler. Instructions were pretty clear, and things like pre-applied thermal paste avoid faffing around with applying your own. LG1700 standoffs were present in their own separate labelled bag, although the manual itself didn't seem to acknowledge that these were distinct from the 115X1200 standoffs in the bag with the rest of the intel fixings.I ran into a few minor issues with registering the cooler on the MSI website, as the CHK code wasn't present on the box, only on the radiator itself. Unfortunately by the time I noticed the cooler was installed, and hard to access without dismantling the build. MSI support were very prompt at addressing the problem though, which is always a good sign.Customization via MSI Center was simple, although I'd have liked slightly more customization options available. That said, I've not poked to closely, so it might be that there are more options available if you're willing to move beyond the UI.
