Streacom is on a mission: to make computer products and accessories that provide a balance between form, function, quality and value for money. The company is still a relative newcomer, and yet it is able to call upon a group of experts with many years of experience between them (including among others OrigenAE). This know-how allows Streacom to make products that push the boundaries.
The efficient, silent and diminutive 160 Watt Nano power supply is a great example of this approach. It consists of an external AC-DC adapter (such as what you might find on a laptop) and an internal DC-DC converter board that is plugged in directly to the 24-pin connector of the motherboard. Both components are connected using a coaxial power connector and a compatible jack.
The connector goes from the internal converter board over an approximately 40cm long cable, and is affixed to the rear of the case by means of a knurled nut, where the cable is connected from the external adapter. The ST-NANO160 HTPC-PSU is ideal for use in silent systems thanks to Streacom's innovative passively cooled cases, however it can also be used in other HTPC configurations as well, as long as the maximum 160 Watt output is not exceeded.
