AK-FN059 120mm Ultra Quiet Venom Viper Cool Fan - 3/4 Pin

High performance 12cm fan with S-FLOW blades supplying 30% more airflow than a standard fan at the same speed. The greater performance combined with PWM automatic speed control allows the fan noise to be kept to a minimum.
The Viper fan creates more focused airflow providing blind-spot cooling, which makes it an ideal solution for a case or heatsink fan. HDB (Hydro Dynamic) bearings extend fan life and further enhance noise reduction. Killer Viper yellow colour makes this fan distinctive and unique.

- High performance 12cm fan in killer VIPER yellow colour

Great and reliable fan

I have 2 of these on my 240mm radiator since June 2010 and I must say, to this day they are running amazing. No rattling, no griding no noise whatsoever apart from the wind current. For the price these are great radiator fans, great static pressure and very quiet compared to any other offering in the same price segment or even higher.

I am actually going to buy 3 more of these when I expand my loop with another 360mm radiator. 7 years of service of daily constant use is enough for me to guarantee their performance and reliability.

I have seven of these things in my build... I had to open the case and check they were actually working as I couldn't hear anything.

How quiet these fans are is unreal. Whether I'm writing software, gaming or rendering video they don't make a sound, ever. Buy them. You won't regret it.

Run these on a 4 pin PWM output on the motherboard and they are nice and quiet. Haven't got one? Run it on a 3 pin output and they spin at 1900rpm and are pretty noisy. Using the fan control software on my mobo i can bring it down to 1100rpm but it's still much noisier than i would like. Next problem is the cable length. It's about 6 inches long and no extension provided, meaning it does not reach my motherboard from any of my fan mounting positions apart from the top of the case (750D).
I'm sure as a radiator or cpu cooler update they work well as they clearly push a lot of air but as a case fan they are next to useless. The standard much cheaper super silent fan from akasa (the purple one) is much better than this for a case fan.

I have got 4 of these on my Monsta 240 in push pull, and they shift so much air. They are very load on full boar, but with the Monsta doing better with low speed fans they are a perfect fit. I'm about to order 6 more for my XT45, 360, to cool my gpu. The best 120mm fans I have used to date, and the yellow is a perfect match for my MPower motherboard.

bought 2 of these while there on offer.Replaced the fans on my h80 with these bad boys and what a differance been able too push it too 4.6ghz on z 3770k 62 degrees on full load and damn quiet too on pwm mode buy em you wont regret it.

Great Cooling

My case didn't have any fans except the CPU cooler and maxed out the CPU ran at 60c. Now with a fan controller , a viper at the rear and a viper on the top of my PC case at 1100 rpm the maxed out CPU temp is 46c.

If I go to max rpm the temp goes lower still.

The fans were easy to fit and did not make any real noise at all until running fast. Recommended.

Excellent fans

These fans are very, very good. Possibly the best I've bought.

I bought the Akasa Viper Voodoo CPU Cooler, the Venom Toxic case, and 2 of these fans. The case came with a front mounted 230mm fan, a top mounted 230mm fan, rear mounted 120mm, and I mounted these two lovely fans on the side panel.

My CPU (2600k, OC 4.8Ghz) idles at 32c-34c with the fans on low profile.

The two side mounted fans do an amazing job of removing the heat from my SLi nVidia 570 HD's, even if they're in low profile. The 570's kick out a lot of heat and turning up the fans to mid-high removes the heat from the cards straight away - hover your hand over the fans and you can feel the hot air coming out of the case immediately.

The only problem I had with them was that one of the fan boxes was missing some of the rubber pins - but I'm sorting that with Akasa and they're sending me some spares!

My external hard disk makes more noise than the fans in low profile. That's quality.

Works really well

I replaced 2 of my 3 120mm fans with these today and much to the relief of the missus and the cats my machine (in the lounge) no longer sounds like a Euro-fighter warming up for take off.

as someone else said the cables are a tad short though on the front case fan the cable only just reaches the fan head.
However I am going to buy another now to replace the other non pwm fan in the front.

Decent Fans

I put 4 of these on the Corsair H100 in push/pull and they do a very good job at shifting the air and keeping my CPU nice and cool.

I would definitely recommend these fans but beware, they are quite loud when they get going!

Awesome fans, already got two of these on the coolit alc eco, in push/pull config.

Ordered another 3 as case fans, shift a load of air. a little noisy at 1900rpm but who cares if your components think its Alaska! Also the air is directed very well, no vibration!

Awesome fan!

A little noisier than expected

Bought 2 of these to replace a couple of 120mm akasa amber quiet fans as not enough air flow through case. These are an improvement but they are more audible running on std settings. Running them on quiet still gives better airflow and are almost inaudble. Can fault them otherwise.

Great Fan

I love this fan. Ordered 1 to replace 1 of the 2 thermaltake frio cooler fans that I broke.
This fan is so good I am ordering another to replace the other fan on my thermaltake frio.

Moves nice amount of air
Keeps my cpu cooler nice and cool
Looks good
Pre braided cable

Cons: Does not come with molex adapter (rearly not an issue tho)

Good Apache Upgrade

My set up is:

Mobo: Asus M4A785TD-V Evo
CPU: Phenom II X6 1090T (@ 3.8 GHz; 2600 cpu nb; vcore 1.375; nb volts 1.25)
Sink: Thermolab Baram
Case: Coolermaster Elite 335

My set up is the fan blowing through the Baram towards the stock exhaust fan back of the case. There is also a 120mm intake fan at the front and a low RPM 92mm side panel intake fan.

I loaded my CPU using Intel Burn Test v2.50 set to Maximum.

Apache on the Baram: max 55*C
Viper on the Baram: max 53*C

I then swapped out the Coolermaster stock exhaust fan on my case for the Apache. The apache is rated as quieter and with a higher CFM.

Viper on Baram, Apache on Case: max 52*C

>From unscientific observation my load volume seems a little higher than it was but nothing much to worry about. My idle volume is the same.

All in all I am pleased. Not a huge drop but enough to make it worth it and for me to start pushing above 4GHz.

Edward 2011-03-23

Noisier then expected

Surprisingly noisy compared to the fractual design fans. However the do shift an insane amount of air. very very good, for keeping the system cool, but not for keeping it quiet, would suggest the Fractual fans for that.

Darren 2011-01-12

A must for the Corsair H70

Drops CPU temp by 4 to 5 degress compared to stock fans on H70 when idle.

My i7 CPU now idles at 30C when overclocked to 4.0Ghz, 1.375V

Great fans

bought one of these from a local shop, just bought 3 more here to go on my water cooling loop, it impressed me that much!
haven't seen better cfm / dba ratios anywhere else
Buy them, you wont regret it.

Lug 2010-10-01

They are quite pricey (they're slightly cheaper elsewhere, but im local to OCUK so no shippping costs evens it out.), but they dont half shift some air compared to the stock fans

Got one shoved in the front of the case and considering another for the rear. At 1100RPM its inaudible over the rest of the system. Even the full 1900 is not particularly loud (its borderline bearable!).

My only major gripe is that the cable is quite short. I guess these are mostly used as CPU cooler fans, but this one bearly stretched to the motherboard header. I would say 4.5/5, but as its not possible, i give it the full 5*

thingemajib 2010-09-25

Dropped my temps and keeps them stable constantly now at 30-35ish!

Decent Fans

Dan 2010-09-14

Very good fan for the price, Using them with Corsair H50, and it's excellent!

Mayfair 2010-09-09

Solid and nice looking

very nice fans, using them with Corsair H50, very good performance from around 900 rpm, very quiet, only noise is from rad fins really. Build quality is superb too, i had Noctua fans before but these are better option now. like colour scheme too. 5 stars

Ultra Quiet Viper Cool Fan

As the title say's, Ultra Quiet Viper Cool Fan, it's an improved version of the Apache which is a very good fan.
