Akasa USB 2 Problems with two of my pcs
by MichaelThe Akasa cable is a good cable, of good build quality and good shielding as I have been having problems with interfierence. However im running it in USB 2.0 mode, as stated on its description this cable will do both usb 2 and 3 modes... however when I plugged the cable into my pc, and my new Coolermaster Sentinel 5600Dpi mouse in the other end nothing happened. Great, I thought... Tryed it in another usb port in my machine and nothing, plugged the mouse directly to usb port and it worked! Upon inspection I realized that if I pull out the USB plug slightly from the Motherboard side the mouse lit up and everything now works fine. The Usb entension cable uses the normal 4 pins for usb 2.0, and then uses a seperate 5 pins for usb 3.0, however in order for 9 sets of pins to fit in the same usb plug, it looks like Akasa shortened the usb 2.0 pins, so thats the reason i had to pull out the plug slightly to make a connection. I have tryed the cable in 2 pcs so far, with same! prob!
