As good as you can expect from EK
by AlopexLagopusA great little pump/res combo that fits nicely in my LianLi Q58 case after a little hole-sawing to accommodate the D5 pump. I have a build log with pics on PCpartpicker, https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/builds/edit/?userbuild=fPF8TW (link may get stripped by OCUK mods). The measurements in the EK data sheet are accurate, but the cables come directly out of the back of the pump and the tightest bend of the cables still takes up another 2.5mm of depth. Anecdotally, it also fits in many other mITX sandwich-style cases, again with a quick hole-saw mod. If you don't want to cut your case, then the DDC version may be a better option. Check dimensions of your case, YMMV. It is not obvious at first glance of the pictures - the outlets are the ones opposite the 'FLT80' logo. All other openings are inlets. I'd like to give 4.5 stars as the D5 is a little noisier than I had hoped, but then it is a D5, so to be expected. The timbre of the noise is the usual high frequency directly related to the spindle speed and also a barely discernible rattle. Adjusting the PWM speed curve in the UEFI of your motherboard or other software can help with this, but I have been unable to eliminate it completely. DDC pumps tend to be a little quieter in my experience. Be very careful with tightening plugs and fittings, especially on the faceplate. Over-tightening will lead to cracking of the acrylic. Tighten just enough to seal against an air pressure test (EK make a nice tester, which I bought here, but currently not in stock. Alternatively - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/?query=pressure%2520test) and this will serve you well with no leaks. I would use this again on future builds as the fit and finish is excellent with no ridges or overhangs and clean polished faces.
