The Intel Core- series of processors have now received their latest upgrade in the form of the Comet Lake Refresh. This new updated range brings some highly sought after improvements, including the fact that CPUs with unlocked multipliers now offer soldered heatspreaders (IHS). This enables heat to be more effectively dissipated away from the CPU, allowing higher clock frequencies over longer periods of time.

The Intel Core i5-10600K is the new mainstream model of the Core 10,000- series and offers six cores with Hyper-Threading (SMT), capable of processing up to 12 threads simultaneously. The enthusiast-class CPU is also capable of offering increased clock frequencies and optimised boost functions when compared to its predecessors. The TDP of this Ten-Core processor is 125 Watts. The processor is compatible with socket 1200 motherboards from the 400-series.

For memory we highly recommend the 8 Pack memory range manufacturered by TeamGroup to OcUK Specifications and recommend the dual channel 3200MHz and 3600MHz 16GB and 32GB Dual Channel kits available from this website for optimal performance and best overclocking ability.

Enough for gaming

by Chris Chatterje-Doody star_border star star star star

If you like me havent seen a lot of movement in the cpu space to tempt you into an upgrade then I can tell you having bought this... I'm not sure yet eitherIm coming from a 4670k and as I'm waiting for the 3000 series nvidia cards im bottlenecked by a rx580. Indications are from a auto overclock thanks to my asus board to 5ghz that this will be enough for gaming. The responsiveness when I'm chuckin multi task loads at my pc is improved. I don't do streaming or encoding or I would have bought a ryzen but in games im seeing any semblance of cpu limitation removed. Time will tell but so far the cooling performance is improved and with a new socket we can hope that their will be a decent upgrade road map. Being from Newcastle under lyme. Always happy to see ocuk doing so well... thanks for making my sunday a happy one.
