LG you have nailed it!!
by NickThis monitor actually exists! I have been waiting for LG to release this for about 6 months. I was one of the lucky ones to place a pre order on OverClockers. So was it worth the wait...YES! I came from a Benq gaming monitor running at 1080p 60hz 1ms refresh so this is massive upgrade for me. I have a 4K TV which I occasionally game on but always preferred gaming on monitors. I was holding out for HDMI 2.1 which is great for future proofing.I am a PS5 gamer, I play a lot of Cold War, Warzone, Dirt 5, WRC, Spider-Man, Ratchet and Clank, Doom and new titles. I nearly bought the Gigabyte M28U or FV43U or even the LG CX48 OLED as the wait for this LG monitor was getting crazy, but I am so glad I held off. I don't think a massive monitor would be a good idea for my kitchen worktop desk. Playing 4K @ 120hz over HDMI 2.1 is outstanding! Honestly going back to 60hz feels awful now! Playing COD you need to turn on performance mode on the PS5 to get 4K 120hz and on other games. I have definitely been playing a lot better since gaming on this and I am appreciating games so much more now!So some people might be asking backlight bleed, tbh every monitor I have owned has had an element of this, I would say it's slightly more noticeable on this IPS panel compared to my Benq VA panel, but honesty it does not affect gaming what so ever, yes you can see it slightly on a black menu but don't let this put you off. I have noticed one minor bug. If my monitor is in rest mode, when I turn my PS5 on it is fine, as soon as I launch a game the monitor will drop the resolution to 1080p. The way to fix it is turn off the monitor and back and on and it's fine. OR when you have finished using the monitor turn it off. When you power your PS5, turn on the monitor as well and I never run into this issue. This is just an observation from my experience. I could be doing something wrong but just giving you a heads up. However, hands down the best gaming monitor I have played on, I think this is way better than previous LG Ultragear gaming monitors I have played on. The HDR is spot on, honestly you don't want it any brighter. I have it enabled all the time it's that good. The IPS panel is perfect. The RGB lighting is awesome, especially if you connect it to a PC the lights change to the colours of the screen. You can download the drivers from LGs website, its called LG Ultragear control centre. At this stage I honestly cannot fault this monitor after a week and I would recommend it to anyone. Especially casual, semi casual, competitive console players.
