Radeon RX 580
Polaris 10 Refined and Refreshed
Improving on the AMD Radeon Polaris 10 GPU architecture, the AMD RX 580 is an enhanced, refined and refreshed model of the RX 480 graphics card. Differing from the original GPU, the RX 580 features an improved core clock speed, only seeing a minimal increase in power requirements - taking GPU board power from 150W to 185W. As the RX 580 will only be available through custom solutions by add-in board partners, there will not be a reference GPU produced.
This change to third-party solutions-only means a greater variety of aesthetic and functional designs, with each manufacturer implementing the own overclocked speeds and cooling solutions - taking full advantage of the chip refinements AMD has implemented in to the GPU. While core clock speeds have been improved, all original specifications of the GPU remain the same as the RX 480, seeing overall performance increased by as much as 15% on average.
Fitted with 2304 graphics processing cores, the RX 580 has the capability to run at speeds anywhere from 1300MHz to 1450MHz. This is combined with memory configurations of 4GB or 8GB GDDR5 on a 256-bit Bus, running at 8000Mhz for 256 GB/s of memory bandwidth. This takes overall GPU performance up to 6.2 TFLOPs which is ideal for gaming at both 1440p and 4K resolutions.
RX Series GPUs have been designed and engineered from the ground up with increased performance and power efficiency in-mind, that deliver phenomenal gaming performance in DirectX® 12 and Vulkan™, the future of gaming graphics APIs. With constant Radeon Software updates being released to support the latest PC games titles at the highest possible standard, the performance of the RX series GPUs gets better and better.
