Baldur's Gate 3 is the third mainline adventure in the series which started back in 1998. It was developed and published by Larian Studios, who have a long history of epic RPGs such as Divinity: Original Sin I and II. Within Baldur's Gate 3, you are an adventurer who has been captured by the illithid, otherwise known as the Mindflayers, and taken aboard one of their nautiloids. While aboard one terrible event occurs after another, including an attack by dragons, a crash landing, and, worst of all, an implantation of an illithid tadpole. You must find a way to cure yourself before ceremorphosis can occur, turning you into a Mindflayer.
Being a host to an unwanted brain eating tadpole does come with its perks, including new telepathy powers. As you journey you can add to your powers by consuming more parasites that you can find scattered around the world. Alongside the illithid powers you possess, you’ll have the innate abilities of you chosen class to aid you in your journey, such as a Rogues sneak attack, or Barbarians Rage.
