cheap and good replacement for stock cooler

replaced stock cooler on phenom ii x6 1055t got my idle temps down by 6 degrees and is much quieter.
good and cheap

Mr Michael G McCullagh 2016-10-16

Bargain for the price.

Bought to replace an Coolermaster CPU cooler which expired in flames, this has my i7 870 running happily @ 3.8 / 4.0 Turbo for under £15.
Jobs a good one if your a tight arse as I am! :D

Relatively easy to install. Good cooling performance. No issues.

Great value for money

ive had the cooler for 9 months and im very happy.Looks good and keeps my peocessor cool. I have an AMD A8 5600K overclocked to 4.3Ghz. At idle it sits at 35c and at full load never goes above 50c. Would definately recommend.

Update to my 3* review

Hi all,
Unfortunately I cannot update my reviews directly. Yay!

Anyway, the reason I felt compelled to write to Raijintek following the discovery of the fitting issue, and to my pleasant suprise, a Tony Sahin at Raijintek promptly responded within about 48 hours and advised that they have special brackets for these. They asked for a copy of my invoice and then once sent they quickly organised for some of these brackets to be sent to me.

These new brackets have done the job perfectly, and the cooler is now doing a brilliant job for the cost on the cooler, with substantially lower temps than the stock cooler would have netted.

Following this rather good customer service, and the fact the cooler is now doing the job rather nicely especially for the price, I feel compelled to raise the score to 4*.

I have however still docked the 5* as I believe these brackets should be included from the off. If they want to list socket compatibility as they do, all required parts should be included in the box for any compatible socket fit.

Would recommend however, the cooler does the job very well for the size and cost assuming your required socket fit is present, and am considering using another in the near future.

Good value, but wouldn't recommend for A

This seems like a good little cooler, it seems well constructed, and the fan is not too noisy, and based upon reviews, it has good cooling potential. Up until now, 4.5/5.
Unfortunately the design falls down when it comes to fitting to AMD/FM2 CPUs, the mounting brackets have to be mounted horizontally, rather than vertically, with the net result you can only fit the cooler vertically, not horizontally facing as would be more suitable for a large number of cases, hampering case airflow, and also meaning the cooler cannot exhaust and cool as effectively as it should.

Whilst this might be fine if you have a case with high draw ceiling exhaust, I cannot recommend it for a more restrained case without this and with only the more traditional horizontal venting, such as the Bitfenix Neos, which given the price point is whom I feel this cooler was aimed at.

Disappointing; given the videos showing you can mount the cooler facing horizontally with Intel, I figured the same thought would have been given to the AMD fitting solution (as it is meant to be universal).
I was wrong!

Very good cooler

Have this fitted to an 8350 @ 4.2 Ghz. Idle as low as 18'C, mostly between 22-28'C, under load haven't seen temps go over 46'C. Yet to game for long periods on it yet so I will update the review should there be any significant rise. Overall though a very good and easy to fit cooler. Was my first time fitting a cooler of any kind and took 20 minutes if that, easy instructions.

Easy to fit / Good cooler for the money

Vry easy to fit, central bar, two screws, job done. Impressed with how everything came packaged, and was easy to install.

Temps for my Haswell 30c idle, 75c under load, and thats with the TIM that came with the cooler, running at 1.3v 4.3hz

Best value for money

I have a Intel Core i5-3570 3.40GHz oc to 4 gig.
It was running at 70+ on some games. After i installed this i hardly go over 50 and even
after hours and hours of game play it stays under 55, such good value for money.

Just keep in mind that it is quite big so make sure you have space for it

"The cooler performance was good, and the acoustics weren’t bad either. It did get a little loud when overclocking, but with it being a smaller design, I would simply not overclock so hard and lower those RPM to find a nice balance. Raijintek make plenty of bigger coolers for overclocking, so it’s about buying what’s appropriate for your needs."
