MANUFACTURER Raijintek

The Coeus Elite TC from Raijintek represents a premium transparent Micro-ATX tower, one which makes for a drastic departure from the previous Raijintek cases and offers a fundamentally more premium aesthetic. Visually the Coeus Elite TC impresses with its tempered glass used to completely cover the front, roof and side windows. The case comes with a solid selection of kit including three pre-installed 120 mm LED fans as well as sufficient space for powerful gaming hardware and extensive cooling solutions.

The Raijintek Coeus Elite TC Micro-ATX Tower at a Glance:

  • High quality black aluminium case
  • Large tempered glass panels on the front, lid and side panels
  • Plenty of space for air or water cooling
  • Five fans mountable, 3x 120 mm with LED lighting pre-installed
  • Two hose guides for water cooling
  • Space for 240- or 280 mm radiator at the front or upper side
  • Space for motherboards up to Micro ATX and Mini ITX form factors
  • 3x 3.5" & 1x 2.5" or 4x 2.5" data storage
  • CPU cooler with a maximum height of 175 mm
  • Graphics cards up to 350 mm long

Premium Design & Tempered Glass Windows in the Coeus Elite TC

The design of the Coeus Elite TC Micro-ATX tower makes it clear that Raijintek is intending to take things up a notch in their endeavour to create a premium case that can double as a multimedia centre as well as a gaming PC, capable of blending into its surroundings. To achieve this Raijintek uses a premium aluminium chassis which, in this version, comes in black. Aesthetically pleasing and equipped with rubberised castors on all four corners, the vibrations of the case are minimised while also offering an alternative use as carrying handles.

The case also has two large side windows made of tempered glass on the right and left side of the case, providing an excellent view of the hardware installed. The front and top sides are also equipped with tempered glass panes. The glass panes lend the whole housing a very elegant appearance and present the hardware in a "showcase" style.

Air- or Water Cooling in the Coeus Evo TC

Active airflow cooling is provided by a 120 mm fan pre-installed on the rear panel and supported by two additional 120 mm fans in the front. This creates excellent airflow, also allowing it to cool down potent gaming hardware reliably. The two fans installed at the front have additional ring-shaped LED lighting, which looks particularly chic. However, the Micro-ATX tower also offers enough space to expand the air cooling to a total of five 120 mm fans. In addition, the 120cm front and lid fans can be replaced by 140mm models.

Thanks to the relatively large dimensions of the Micro-ATX tower, however, an effective water cooling system can also be installed. The front and lid offer sufficient space for a maximum of one 280 mm radiator each. Raijintek also does not use typical drive bays or mountings in the typical manner, banishing the data storage to the PSU Shroud or behind the mainboard tray. This means that there is sufficient space available to accommodate a custom water cooling system in the housing.

Great Features & Plenty of Space for Gaming Hardware

The interior of the nearly 11 kg Coeus Elite TC proves to be pleasantly spacious, because in addition to the Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX form factor compatibility, powerful PS/2 power supplies, GPU support for cards up to 35 cm long and CPU coolers up to 17.5 cm high can also be accommodated.

The interior is divided into two chambers and is thermally separated to enable more efficient cooling of the primary components. Either three 3,5" drives and a 2,5" drive can be installed, all of which can be replaced with 2,5" drives. In total this results in more than enough space for data storage. The increased space behind the motherboard tray also results in pleasantly convenient and easy cable management.

Raijintek placed usability high on the list of important features in the Coeus Elite TC, with this in mind the dust filter is easy to remove and clean. Furthermore the Coeus Elite TC is equipped with motherboard spacers and possesses a large cut-out in the tray to enable easy CPU cooler swapping. The I/O panel in the front section of the roof comes with two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.0 Type C connector and an HD Audio connector.

Named after the Greek titan of the same name, fabled for his questioning mind this case fits in well with that name. In its EVO form which supports upto EATX boards, its certainly a titan. This scaled down micro ATX version keeps all the same features as its larger sibling, just in a much more compact form factor. So what makes this case different from the slew of cases on the market? Well It has to be the glass glasss everywhere. Both the sides, the front panel and the top are tempered glass but unlike air starved cases which plagued 2017, the Coeus actually has the glass offset from the frame. This gap which comes in around 4-5mm means that airflow is actually rather good. Obviously it's not a match for a pure mesh front but if you really need the front panel open, 4 screws will see to that.Like most Raijintek cases, everything is removable too, from the foot / handle assemblies to the panels, everything is screwed in, meaning that if modding is your thing then this could be a great base for that. The Elite comes with 3 IRIS 12 white fans which doe a nice job of illuminating the insides they also look very similar to the recently released Orcus AIO but dont have the RGB elements. The front panel comes with 2 3.5mm audio jacks for microphone and headphone and we also get 2 USB 3 ports as well as 1 USB type C which is nice to see.Inside the case we actually have a fairly roomy chassis with a standard layout. There are SSD mounts on the back with tool-less mounting and an HDD sled assembly hidden under the power supply shroud. On the topic of the power supply shroud, I really like it. Its simple and the mesh dust filter on top is magnetic which means you don't have to remove the whole shroud to clean it or if you need to get to a PSU cable as you add components to your system. A simple but really nice inclusionModularity, simplicity and unique design ques are the order of the day with the Coeus, but how is it to build in?My test system system comprised of the Ryzen 5 1400 on the X370 fatal1ty from ASrock along with a Palit GTX 1080 and Orcus 240 AIOCable management was easy with their being plenty room to hide even the most thrown together system but the clean lines inside the case lends itself well to encouraging you to think about making the build as tidy as you can.Overall it's a lovely case to build in and although in screenshots the looks can be subjective, having it here in the metal and glass it's a very very nicely designed and proportioned chassis. It gets my stamp of approval for being something a little different than the usual affairs from corsair, NZXT, phanteks and the like while still being built to a high standard with all the expected boxes being ticked. This is a premium micro ATX case and its priced accordingly, it does things a little different and that will mean it's not for everyone but if you want something that's for a matx build that's not cookie cutter reddit fodder, then the Coeus is worth serious consideration.
