Seasonic quality, budget friendly
by BartI've read loads outside reviews and this unit has everything I need. PROS first: + Very stable voltages across load (more proffesional tests can be found on internet) + Compact form factor + Quiet (with hybrid/fanless mode switch) + Fully modular + 12V HPWR socket and cable + PCI-E 12V (6+2) cables are separate - no daisychain 1000W is little overkill for me - but I choose this unit because best efficency is in "middle ground" - so should be little more efficient than 850W version in my setup and future upgrades. Only few things can be done better (but this is a budget version, so I can accept it) - doesn't look "pretty": black and white, plain text and Seasonic logo at back - Only 3 +12V PCI-E (6+2) cables (but, who uses SLI/Crossfire anymore?) - No 4pin MB CPU cable - my MB using 4+8 pin but, lucky enough for me i can connect 8 pin into 4 pin socket, with half plug not connected. - Weird allocation plugs of SATA power cable - in my build was tricky to trace cable from PSU to HDD and Blu Ray... I should mention about power cables: they are separate (no sleeved) - with little effort can be looks nice in chasis, but at beginnig - little messy (they must be tie up) I can recommend this PSU as budget friendly "future proof" solid unit. Perfect for enclosed chasis or "stealth" build - due to compact size. Seasonic is reputable brand.
